Supporting Neighbors
There are many meaningful ways to help The Pantry serve our community. We need your involvement, whether you’re scheduling a shift to help clients shop, working in the Franklin Community Garden, organizing a food or fund drive with your group, making a donation of food or funds, or promoting The Pantry by purchasing some swag. Every action makes a difference, and we’re grateful for you!
CLIENT STORY
Heather
Heather helps her friend out by driving her to appointments from time to time since she doesn’t have regular access to a car. They had met at a mother’s group at the library and despite growing up in different parts of the world, or maybe because of it, they hit it off. Today Heather was dropping her friend at The Pantry and was concerned, since it would be her first time there, and English wasn’t her first language. She needn’t have worried. Her friend said people were warm and welcoming from the second she crossed the threshold. The volunteers immediately pulled out their phones and fired up a translator app. They took the time needed to help her find ingredients that she could cook.
