What is Food Elves?

Food Elves is the Franklin Food Pantry’s largest fundraiser of the year and it wraps up our holiday giving season. Every December high school and middle school students earn community service hours and raise money for The Pantry. Each student works in their elementary school district and is assigned streets where they drop off our signature purple envelopes and a flyer explaining the program at addresses. People can make donations via an online page or leave a check in the envelope and the student returns to pick it up on a certain day. The Pantry provides all the materials each elf needs and has District Parents who volunteer to help the elves. It’s a great program that makes a large impact to The Pantry. In 2021, the Food Elves raised over 90,000 dollars! If you would like to sign up to be a food elf for the 2022 season sign up here and someone will be in touch with you in October. Elves can earn community service hours (5 hours for online only, 10 hours for hybrid, 15 hours for our elf captains!)  If you have any questions please reach out to Marsha Tait at mtait@franklinfoodpantry.org.
